Bath

We enjoyed a few days in Bath. We were the typical tourists, taking in the sights, touring the Roman Baths, eating lunch by the abbey and shopping. We enjoyed this historical city very much.  We met  a motorcyclist from the states (Virginia) by the name of Brian.  The campground was full, so we offered him the grassy spot next to our camper  to pitch his tent.  We pent the evening sharing drinks and traveling stories.  We hate to leave, but the Royal Highlands in Edinburgh, Scotland starts at the end of the week, thus we need to be on our way.

  1. Did Brian mention how long he was traveling for? Was he at the beginning, middle or end of his trip?

Another question: why is the water that color in the bath? Is that why no one is in it?

    Great pics!

    • Hey, Brian was at the beginning of his month long trip (why do you ask?).

The color of the water is green because of algae; back when it was used, there was a roof that kept it dark and the alage would not grow. Believe it or not at the end of the tour they give out samples for drinking (straight from the spring though).

Still looking for the perfect magnet.

  2. Wow! I’m pretty sure that’s a Black Orpington. Looks free – range to me. British breed, lays brown eggs. The Roman baths look like they could use a couple chlorine tablets but maybe that’s just me. What’s an “abby”? Looks like you’re having fun!
